Kitties

The kittens are 8 weeks old as of yesterday. Today we gave Puppy away to Jessikah's friend Emily. Black Spots has someone who wants her, but she can't take her until October. We're keeping Cow and Mini-Me.

chooks

My chicken Strawberry started laying eggs on Friday. Grammy also brought another chicken, Morena, over a few hours ago. So we should be getting three eggs a day now.

7/18/09-7/21/09

The previous post was one I started earlier today about my kitten. I started that post to brag about how cute and sweet my kitten was, but I didn't get around to finishing it until it was too late.

She stopped eating from her mama the second morning. 2 days doesn't seem like a long time, but I adopted her as my own and got very attached. I fed her every hour throughout the two nights I had her, and diligently throughout the day.

I went up to my room today to feed her again, only to find that the sweet girl had passed away. She was a very loved kitten in the short time she was with us.

I also have some pictures of me feeding her, but I can't find the camera so I can't upload them :(

Cutest. Thing. Ever.

Until yesterday, our cat looked like this.

Today, she looks like this.

That's right, we've got kittens.

There are five of them, and four of them are white with calico spots like this.

But there's one that looks like his/her mama.

They are the tiniest little things!

Cleocatra is such a good mommy.

We saw that Cleocatra's lookalike baby still had it's umbilical cord attached. He cried when I flipped him over and that freaked poor Mama out, I think she's still mad at me ;)

When we left for church on yesterday, I told the kitty that her job was to have kittens while we were gone. She obeyed.

When we got home, we couldn't find her anywhere, so we figured she had had her kittens and was hiding out. I went to bed only to be woken up at 3:00AM by Jessikah saying "Here Neferkiti, come here" And then I heard the cat meow. I sat up at Jessikah, she was moving a box and then peeked under the dresser. "Awww, I found them!" I got up and saw Cleocatra and all five kittens! We admired them for a bit, got her some food and water, then went back to bed.

When we got up this morning, we took out my bottom drawer, so we wouldn't have to look in through the side, and brought up her litter box.

Jalama

When we go to Jalama, we have four main activities.

1. Playing at the beach/estuary

2. Relaxing

3. Eating

And running around sporting only clippies
Ok, maybe the last one is just Arianah ;)

Cheating

My family keeps telling me I should blog about the "Great Chicken Escape of '09" But I decided that since my mom already blogged about it here, I'll just cheat by linking to her :)

Blogiversary

I don't really have anything to say, but who can let the anniversary of starting their blog go by without a word? I know I can't!

I'm still waiting for Mommy to upload the pics from Jalama, but I will post about it soon :)

Home again, home again, jiggity jig

If you follow me on Twitter, you would see that we went camping this past weekend. We went to Jalama. I'll post pictures tonight or tomorrow. I need to catch up on my blog reading!

We have chickens!

Yesterday Daddy and the little ones made a chicken tractor. I have pics of this, but they won't upload :(

Today, Grammy brought over two chickens. She has one more for us, but she has to catch it and clip it's wings before she brings it.

Arianah really enjoys them.

I think I win the "Worst blogger" award...

Is there such a thing? I haven't finished posting about our vacation, my birthday passed without mention, and I forgot to say that I was leaving to camp this past week. *sigh*

I have a semi-good excuse. When we came home from the road trip Mom got sick, then we had the wedding and left for camp later that day. I've got a lot of work ahead of me...

Road Trip Day 8

As it turns out, I acidentally combined the days 6 and 7. Or the photos are mislabeled. Or we're just out of our minds. Or something like that.

We really didn't take may pictures during day 8. Or whenever these were taken

Arianah looks too big!

Some pretty Colorado countryside.

Road Trip Day 6

I am really late in posting this, sorry! On day six we went to Mount Rushmore, Big Thunder gold mine, and Crazy Horse Memorial.

Arianah and Timothy fresh and clean at the hotel.

This pontail mysteriously appeared on Elijah's head *shifty eyes*

Mount Rushmore.

These gross little beetles were all over the place, yuck!

All of us.

Creepy.

Showing us her display.

Pretty Teepees

Thisis what Mount Rushmore was originally supposed to look like.
This 'Hall of Records' didn't get completed, but it's partially there!

Gutzon Borglum. Nice name, right?

Alist of people who worked on the Monument.
When we finished at Mount Rushmore, we went on a tour of a nearby gold mine.

This used to be the richest gold mine in the US. Now it is caved in and flooded.

A couple tools

The tunnel that they spent 35 years digging. There was $4000 worth of gold in it. Poor guys.

This is how they made holes to stick the dynamite in... I think.

Isaiah trying to lift the hammer

After the tour, we went panning for gold.

Well, except for Timothy, he polished the rocks.

The one room schoolhouse in Keystone, South Dakota

You probably have to click this one.

Pretty cool.
These are some pictures I took through the window.

Tiny, isn't it?

Then weheaded over to Crazy Horse Memorial.

They had a museum thing inside.

I love these beaded moccasins!

Pretty box decorated with porcupine quills.

A toy made out of a caribou antler.

What it will look like

The dimensions
Ugh. I just realized I didn't put a picture of it *sigh* google it.

Chimney rock

For dinner we went to...

The kids thought that it was cool that the waitress wore rollerskates :)

Isaiah danced.

Yeah, he's a little weird ;)

Road Trip Day 5

I'm getting sooo backlogged with all the pictures we've taken! I need to finish this post A.S.A.P. so I can move on to the most recent day. And by that time another day will have gone by! Oh well.
We stopped at a pretty waterfall.

Arianah was freaking Yaya out

See?

We played at the snow again too

Snow play

So pretty!

Then wewent to see Mount Rushmore at night.

Anyway, we need to be out of this hotel in 1/2 hour, so that's all for now!

This time Hannah is hosting it! I am entering these two pictures.

Road Trip Day 4

Since blogger puts the pictures oppisite the way you upload them, I'm going to write my post starting with the end of the day and ending at the beginning. Does that make any sense?

Isaiah was runing to take something to his mom, fell on his face and got a fat lip.

Old Faithful blew just as we walked up!

There were a ton of people waiting to see Old Faithful blow.

Hannah and I made snowmen.

Arianah.

Mama bison with her babies

A Clepsydra geyser.

Silex Springs, such a pretty color!

Arianah enjoyed it too.

The mud pots, they were cool!

Another pretty geyser

I don't really know what this is, but it's called a "Bacteria Mat" which sounds pretty gross.

Another spring.

You might have to click on this one to make it larger.

This deer walked right past our car!

A family picture (Missing a couple people)

These chipmunks came up and ate out of our hands!

Road trip day 3

We didn't do much today... mostly just drove up to a hotel near Yellowstone. We did pull over to play in some (very dirty) snow. It was Elijah and Arianah's first time seeing snow.

We were right on the border, in between the "Welcome to Idaho" and "Welcome to Montana" signs.

Running to the snow

Posing by the snow.

Arianah loved the snow.

This one is really cool!

Elijah got stuck in the snow and didn't want anything to do with it afterward.

Hannah's flip-flops in the snow.

Snowball fights!

Yes, my sister is knee deep in snow, barefoot and wearing shorts.
