The kittens are 8 weeks old as of yesterday. Today we gave Puppy away to Jessikah's friend Emily. Black Spots has someone who wants her, but she can't take her until October. We're keeping Cow and Mini-Me.

My chicken Strawberry started laying eggs on Friday. Grammy also brought another chicken, Morena, over a few hours ago. So we should be getting three eggs a day now.

The previous post was one I started earlier today about my kitten. I started that post to brag about how cute and sweet my kitten was, but I didn't get around to finishing it until it was too late.

She stopped eating from her mama the second morning. 2 days doesn't seem like a long time, but I adopted her as my own and got very attached. I fed her every hour throughout the two nights I had her, and diligently throughout the day.

I went up to my room today to feed her again, only to find that the sweet girl had passed away. She was a very loved kitten in the short time she was with us.

I also have some pictures of me feeding her, but I can't find the camera so I can't upload them :(

Until yesterday, our cat looked like this.

Today, she looks like this.

That's right, we've got kittens.

There are five of them, and four of them are white with calico spots like this.

But there's one that looks like his/her mama.

They are the tiniest little things!

Cleocatra is such a good mommy.

We saw that Cleocatra's lookalike baby still had it's umbilical cord attached. He cried when I flipped him over and that freaked poor Mama out, I think she's still mad at me ;)

When we left for church on yesterday, I told the kitty that her job was to have kittens while we were gone. She obeyed.

When we got home, we couldn't find her anywhere, so we figured she had had her kittens and was hiding out. I went to bed only to be woken up at 3:00AM by Jessikah saying "Here Neferkiti, come here" And then I heard the cat meow. I sat up at Jessikah, she was moving a box and then peeked under the dresser. "Awww, I found them!" I got up and saw Cleocatra and all five kittens! We admired them for a bit, got her some food and water, then went back to bed.

When we got up this morning, we took out my bottom drawer, so we wouldn't have to look in through the side, and brought up her litter box.

Today, Grammy brought over two chickens. She has one more for us, but she has to catch it and clip it's wings before she brings it.

I am really late in posting this, sorry! On day six we went to Mount Rushmore, Big Thunder gold mine, and Crazy Horse Memorial.

When we finished at Mount Rushmore, we went on a tour of a nearby gold mine.

This used to be the richest gold mine in the US. Now it is caved in and flooded.

Since blogger puts the pictures oppisite the way you upload them, I'm going to write my post starting with the end of the day and ending at the beginning. Does that make any sense?

Road trip day 3

We didn't do much today... mostly just drove up to a hotel near Yellowstone. We did pull over to play in some (very dirty) snow. It was Elijah and Arianah's first time seeing snow.

We were right on the border, in between the "Welcome to Idaho" and "Welcome to Montana" signs.

Today we visited Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Bryce Canyon was amazing, better than the Grand Canyon, in my opinion.

My Dad is taking a trip to Israel for ten days. Since he's going to be gone, Mom decided that we are going on a trip too!

We're going to take a roadtrip through Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, a tiny bit of Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado and possibly New Mexico. We'll be gone the 24th to around the 4th.

4. Look closely at the HTML.It should have two links, the one nearer the top needs to be changed to your blog URL.

6. Paste the new code into an HTML widgit, then save it.

I started with a screenshot of the bow on the side of my blog.

Flipped it to the side

Then I made a bunch of dots for the background using the airbrush tool.

After that I outlined the bow in red and cut and pasted it on the dots

Then I clicked on the "A" for text I chose the one that would make just theletters stand out and the text box blend in. You might have to click this one to make it bigger.

Passover

We don't do a seder for Passover. We do a service that's probably different from anything you've ever experienced.

We start off by singing some songs and reading scripture.

After that we have a piece of bread and a sip of wine, symbolizing Jesus' body and blood.

After that, Daddy "sacrifices" a stuffed lamb.

What? No, that's not a strawberry in his hand!

We then proceed to put the blood on the doorposts.

After that we go back in and read the passage where Jesus washes his diciples feet, then we follow his example by washing each others feet.

Then we dance and sing

Then it's time to eat!

Plagues!

During the days leading up to Passover we set out things to represent each of the 10 plauges.

The first plague is all the water turning to blood (Exodus 7:14-25) For this plague we put red food coloring in all the water. In the cups, the toilet, even the dogs water bowl.

The second plague is frogs (Exodus 8:1-8:15) we put frogs all over the house in the sink, on the floor and in the food!

After the frogs comes lice (Exodus 8:16-19) We don't have a picture of that because it was just a bunch of rice all over the floor.

Plague number 4 is flies (Exodus 8:20-30)

Next is disease on livestock (Exodus 9:1-7) all of the Egytians animals died, in our house all of the stuffed animals die.

Plague number 6 is boils (Exodus 9:8-12) Mom goes around and puts little pink happy faces stickers on all the kids

Next is hail (Exodus 9:13-35) Mom put little white balls with holes in them in a bowl and tossed them in the air.

Plague 8 is locusts. mom does the same thing with the locust as all the other little things. Into the cereal, beds and everywhere else!

Tonight is the plague of darkness. We will turn out all the lights tonight and wear a blindfold, then Mom and Dad see how well we know our way around the house by having us go get various items :)

Of course tomorrow (Passover) is the last plague, the death of the firstborn.

Backyard cleanup and garden prep part 1

Today we started clearing away all the junk that had been sitting in the backyard since we moved.

This will be our garden area.

Moving the patio tables and cleaning them so we can eat outside when summer comes.

We're planning to use PVC pipe like lincoln logs to make raised beds, so this is a "rough draft" of what it will look like when it's done.

I go to a Bible study on Wednesday morning for homeschoolers. It's really laid back and fun. Anyway the teachers let us bring our small pets sometimes, so last wednesday I took the birdies. Everyone really liked them, who wouldn't? They've gotten bigger and wayyy prettier since the last time I posted pictures of them.

Mom and I each got baby parrotlets last night. They're about three weeks old They will look like this when they are older.

We also learned that feeding baby birds is not as easy as it looks. They are very messy eaters! We didn't get many pictures of them eating though, becase Mom and I were each feeding one. But here is one of the few that we got.

Abby was adopted from Guatemala by the Riggs family.

At three years old, she was diagnosed with a high-risk, aggressive form of Leukemia.

Certain genetic complications have put her chance of surviving the treatment at about 20%.

I am praying for her and her family. Will you please pray for them too?

I was talking on the phone when mom took the picture, then Arianah walked up to me and asked to be held. And even though it looks like it I'm not angry!

I was holding Arianah while playing on the computer and a picture of a baby came up and Arianah goes 'Oooh' So I say 'It's a baby.' and she goes 'Oooh, ba ba.' So I found another picture of a baby and Arianah goes 'Oooh' again and tries to touch it, so I let her and she seemed really surprised that it was flat! I guess that's not what she expected!

She has also started walking! Not just between furniture, but choosing to walk to you instead of crawling.

Elijah and Hannah were jumping on the trampoline and Elijah fell on Hannah's knee, smashing his teeth (His top four front teeth are fake) but Mom called the dentist and he took the fake teeth out today and Elijah will get a new set in a couple of weeks. Until then he will look like this:

Being lazy

Justin and Jessikah are up in Sacremento the 1st-5th to visit some friends, so we have Dad, Mom, Me, Hannah, Lucas, Elijah, and Arianah at home. We have been watching movies and playing board games almost the whole time. Although we walked to a nearby park yesterday, we have mostly just been sitting around.

I've been looking on craigslist for a parrotlet for awhile now and this morning I saw this ad. Two parrotlets and a cage for only $100! Mom and I brought them home this afternoon. Blogger isn't letting me load pictures now but I'll post some later.

Tuesday

Tuesday night I spent the night at Laurens house. I rode my bike over there, and went in and looked at the baby hammies, which we have named Ruth, Samuel, and Joshua, They make our hamster count go up to a dozen! Then we read, played with some stuff that her hand therapist gave her. Its like a plastic, but when you put it in hot water it turns all floppy like a wet noodle, and you can mold it like clay until it cools too much, then you have to put it back in the water. After that we watched Blink, my favorite episode of Doctor Who. Then Lauren and I went to bed and talked til around 2:15ish.

The next morning it was raining so Lauren and I went outside to play in the rain. We made a little lean-to out of sticks and leaves. Then Mom came to take me home. I had fun playing with Lauren.

Last night

Yesterday Mom and Dad went to a no-kids wedding and I stayed home babysitting. I took the kids for a walk, made some cookie dough, cooked a batch, and let them watch a movie. The next morning was Dad's birthday so Mom was making him breakfast, and I put in the next tray of cookies, set the timer, then helped Mom make breakfast.

We ate and I went to play on the computer. An hour or two later I thought 'I can put the cookies in now.' I looked for the cookie sheet then I remembered that I had put them in a couple of hours ago. This is the result, you could turn the pan over without the "cookies" falling off.

I'm not quite sure what happened to the second one in and down from the left.

As I write this I am sitting next to a warm crackling fire, waiting for Mom, Lucas, and Elijah to come home with marshmallows. Anyway without further ado, I give you today in pictures!

Mom asked Elijah to put his apple in a baggie this afternoon so he did, just not quite the way she wanted him to...

Martha and Cleocatra

Well we did end up naming the cat, we voted and the name is Cleocatra. But a few days later Mom, Jessikah, Dad, and a couple of the kids said that they liked Neferkitty better, so her names varies depending on who you ask.

Since all of the boys in their family were in Texas, visiting family for thanksgiving, Jessikah and I spent the night at Laurens house and we played dress up with Susana's old dresses and got a few pictures. The next day Jessikah and Susana went for pedicures, and Lauren and I traipsed around the mall, and got a new hammy! His name is Jeremiah. When we got home we were going to give him and Esther a 'wedding' and were getting all the other hamsters to attend, including her aunts and uncles, Matthew and Isabelle, and Mark and Martha, but when we went into Mark and Marthas cage, we saw that Martha had died, so we got her out of the cage and checked her for cause of death as a sort of low tech autopsy, and found that Cleocatra/Neferkitty had killed her through the bars of the cage. but of course the show must go on so we continued on with the wedding, with Whitie doing the honors

In August we all (Except Justin) went to a photography studio to get Elijah's three year old pictures taken. All of us have gotten three year old pictures and they hang up in the living room, above the couches.

Mom has a very big 16x20 of this one to put up with the rest in the living room, and a dozen wallet sizes.

Traveling up California

Day 1

When we left on Saturday we went up to Organic pastures which is the dairy where we get our milk from. Kaleigh was nice enough to give us a tour on a Saturday! We saw a calf that Kaleigh said was born between 11AM and when we were there (2:30PM)

Most of the cows were very timid but this one came up to get the grass from Dad!

Day 2

The next day we went to a lighthouse (Mom can't remember the name right now)

And went to Natural Bridges State Park, which was supposed to be a butterfly roosting spot but there weren't many butterflies.

And for dinner tonight we went to The Ukiah Brewing Co. it was very good, lots of yummy organic food, and sodas without artificial coloring!

Day 3

What we have planned for tomorrow is simply going up, stopping to look at some redwoods, and continuing up to Oregon.

We have internet again! Dad undid it like last week, and only redid it today!

I also went to Mom's friends Vanessa's house to help her because she had a baby three weeks ago, and her son Isaiah (6) has two broken arms. I had fun, but I missed Arianah a lot!

Today we went to the house and started cleaning it up (Mom and Dads bathroom was digusting!)

We went to the beach with the W family for the first (hopefully not the last) time all summer yesterday, and I learned how to body board. Lauren and I started to make a sand castle with a wall and moat and another wall around it, but then the tide came in and murdered it so we went further up and started making another one, and it was looking really good! But then the waves destroyed that one too.

The other day mom mentioned making a batch of cookies to keep the kids occupied for the afternoon, and I told her would help the little kids make some. Mom gave me a recipe for suger cookies and we all got to work. When the cookies were ready to shape and bake I had to go look through about 50 million boxes to find the cookie cutters, in the end it turned out we didnt have any so Mom took me to Michaels to buy some, when we came home I made a few trays of cookies, had dinner and went to bed. Two days later we decorated the cookies with frosting, spray on food coloring stuff and sprinkles. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.

Our church is going to start a youth sevice soon. We had a meeting about it today, we have started organizing a worship team. there are 4 singers, 4 guitarists, 2 clarinetists, and 2 pianists. We are supposed to have a quarterly service. It should be fun.

Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night. I was on a farm type place in a house, (The rest of my and the W's family was in the W's house) and for some odd reason I was making the neighbors coffee. I served the coffee then I went outside Lauren and Nathaniel W. were there with some big brick things. They were a bunch of brick walls stuck together to make a cube about 7-8 feet, Anyway there were several of those and L and N were tossing them, but without touching them, I guess it must have been some type of 'magic' or whatever. So I started doing the same but I accidentally threw one in between the fences so Nathaniel and I went to get it. That's when these weird clouds rolled in, it looked like a tornado was about to start or something L and N started yelling "No! not again!! NOO!" Then all of the sudden the neighbors house caught on fire, and so did the hillside. Me and Jessikah (who had suddenly appeared next to me) were looking on at the burning hillside but we were totally calm! Jessikah said something like "Wow I bet that's gonna burn really fast." Then it was like I suddenly realized that there was a fire, we started running towards the W's house but then one of the others (I cant remember who) tripped and fell, by this time a bunch of things were starting to randomly set on fire. Anyway I turned to help them up and when I turned back around after they were up the W's house had just caught on fire! The next thing I remember is Jessikah driving me and Lauren on the freeway (Jessikah is 14 - she can't drive) we are trying to get our minds off the subject by talking but every slightest thing sets me off crying (Jessikah saying "Its lucky I can drive isnt it?" or something on TV saying "This is the worst fire to ever happen in Southern California!") Eventually my own crying woke me up... Every time I have a nightmare I wake up crying...
